This artwork, made of 55 invasive lionfish skins, saved the lives of up to 3,850,000 native reef fish in the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, Atlantic and Mediterranean. It also protects the livelihoods of over 40 million people who make their living from these waters. Learn more about lionfish
This signed one of a kind wall-hanging sculpture is handmade of invasive lionfish leather. I molded and painted it to resemble soft ocean waves in the sunset. I also lit it with fiberoptic lights to simulate bioluminescence. The lights twinkle softly in sea greens and blues and reflect off of the irridescent waves. The overall effect is very soothing and tranquil.
