Description

Color begins in violet and slowly dissolves into blush in Enchantment.

Five softly rounded forms ascend the white canvas, each one slightly different in shape, texture, and color. Deep purple gives way to lavender and luminous pink, while a fine edge of 24-karat gold traces each form and flashes gently in changing light.

The shapes are made from invasive lionfish leather, painted by hand and wet-molded into shallow curves. Their raised surfaces cast soft shadows across the canvas. Up close, the leather’s natural scale pattern appears beneath the color, adding something more mysterious to the otherwise delicate composition.

There is no single way to read the movement. The forms might be rising, drifting closer, or disappearing into light. That sense of uncertainty is what gives Enchantment its dreamlike pull.

The leather comes from invasive lionfish removed from Caribbean reefs. By giving that material lasting value, the artwork helps create demand connected to continued removal and healthier reef ecosystems.
