Description

Euphoria rises.

Seven dimensional forms travel upward across an open white field, beginning with a generous shape near the bottom and becoming smaller as they ascend. Warm pinks move through the surface like a flush of light, while edges of 24-karat gold catch and release that light as you pass.

Each form was cut from invasive lionfish leather, painted by hand, and wet-molded into a shallow curve. The leather’s natural scale pattern remains visible beneath the color, giving the soft, pebble-like shapes an unexpected texture. Their cupped surfaces create delicate shadows, allowing the composition to change subtly throughout the day.

The upward movement gives Euphoria its feeling of release. It is buoyant without becoming loud, like joy gathering enough energy to lift away from the ground.

This work is part of Radiant Bliss, a series exploring joy through color, texture, movement, and light.

The leather comes from invasive lionfish removed from Caribbean reefs. Transforming that material into collectible art helps create continued demand for removal while allowing something harmful to become luminous and enduring.
