Description

Tranquility moves slowly across the canvas like stones beneath clear water.

Blue and green forms drift upward from left to right, shifting between turquoise, deep water blue, and soft aquatic green. Their diagonal path gives the composition movement, but the generous white space around them keeps it quiet and unhurried.

Each shape was cut from invasive lionfish leather, painted by hand, and wet-molded into a shallow curve. The natural scale texture remains visible beneath the color, while 24-karat gold along the edges catches small glints of light. Delicate shadows gather beneath the raised forms, causing the surface to change as the light in the room changes.

The result is both still and gently alive. Tranquility carries the feeling of watching light travel across water without needing to follow where it goes.

This work is part of Radiant Bliss, a series exploring joy through color, texture, movement, and light.

The leather comes from invasive lionfish removed from Caribbean reefs. Transforming it into fine art helps create value for a material produced through removal, turning an ecological threat into something calm and lasting.
